Six Month Since Helene
Six weeks after Hurricane Helene, the North Carolina Department of Transportation has made significant progress in rebuilding western North Carolina.
So far, 90 % of ruined roads have reopened, and over 270 roads and 870 conduits have been repaired. A key step was reopening Interstate 40, restoring important access between North Carolina and Tennessee.
Crews worked through severe winter conditions, upgrading some temporary roads and bridges to everlasting options. In Yancey County and Chimney Rock, gravel roads have been built, and temporary bridge are being replaced with continuous models set to begin immediately
Ongoing open meetings are gathering input as NCDOT continues its treatment efforts. While obstacles remain, the progress made in six months is a major step forward. For changes, visit , DriveNC. gov.
NCDMV Updates
The N. C. Division of Motor Vehicles is extending support hours.  ,
Beginning April 7, 42 drivers license agencies will add 50 some opening an hour earlier at 7 a. m., offering an extra hour for meetings and services.  ,
Also, NCDMV’s summer walk-in services hours may return later this year. In 2024, almost 17, 000 deals were processed at 16 practices during the 12 Weekends of the year.  ,  ,
This time, 20 agencies may offer Saturday service from 8 a. m. to 12 p. m. from June 7 to August 23. The new Saturday sites are Elizabeth City, Clayton, Durham East, and Kernersville.

Rockingham Special
NC By Train may run a special train from Raleigh to the Rockingham Speedway for NASCAR’s returning in April.  ,
The” Rockingham Special” train will run for one moment only on April 19 between Raleigh Union Station and the Rockingham Speedway with stops in Southern Pines and Cary.
Train tickets are$ 25 each way and food and beverages will be available for purchase.  ,

Posting US government plates in collections
U.S. government/diplomat plates come in many forms and can be quite interesting. However, the ones from the past 40 years are also illegal for U.S. civilians to possess. As such, posts like this will be removed. Posts depicting U.S. government/diplomat plates on vehicles, however, are allowed.

This website is for discussing license plates in one form or another.
Common repost
Some plates, especially those found in memes, are shared here constantly. We will remove any as we find them. Good rule of thumb: if you found the photo because it was re-shared online, it’s probably something we’ve already seen. This also applies to QQ plates and sovereign citizen plates.
